Making an Appointment

Please contact reception on (02) 9553 9588 and speak to the friendly staff. Please ensure you have a referral from your GP or another Specialist. GP referrals are valid for 12 months, while a referral from another Specialist is valid for 3 months.

What you need to bring to your appointment:

  • Referral (either from your GP or another specialist)
  • Medicare Card
  • Health Care/Pension Card
  • Health Care Fund Details
  • Emergency Contact Details
  • Any CT/MRI Scans



The full consultation fee is payable on the day of your visit. Fees vary, depending on who you see. Please enquire with the friendly receptionists regarding fees when making your appointment.

Fees may be paid by credit card, debit card, cash or cheque. Cheques are to be made payable to your doctor.

Your account is claimed online with Medicare and your rebate will be deposited in to your bank account.

Appointments with Our Clinical Psychologist

What you are required to bring to your appointment:

  • Referral from your GP
  • Mental health care plan
  • Medicare Card
  • Health Care/Pension Card

Patient s are entitled to 10 Medicare sessions per year.After 6 sessions, you will be asked to aquire a new referral from your GP for your last 4 sessions.

At Southern Oncology Specialists, we aim to give our patients appointments as soon as possible.

In order to help us be able to do this, we ask that you give as much notice as possible if you are not able to attend your appointment, as we can offer this appointment to patients on our cancellation list.

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice must be given for cancellations, depending on circumstances, or there may be an out of pocket cancellation fee, which may incur the full cost of a standard consult.

Medical Assistance

If you require an urgent consultation and your oncologist is not available, you are advised to see your GP. We will endeavour to have you seen by another Oncologist when required.

If you are receiving chemotherapy treatment at St George Private, all your medical issues should be directed to the Oncology Day Care Centre on (02) 9598 5310.

If you have a medical emergency out of office hours, please go to your nearest Emergency Department Hospital or dial 000 for an ambulance.

Car Parking

Patient and visitor parking is available in the St George Private Hospital multi-storey car park located on Hogben Street, adjacent to St George Private Hospital. Limited car parking is also available in the St George Private, in the underground car park.

Please note that all disabled pass holders should proceed to the underground car park, the entry is located to the left of the hospital main entrance. 24 hour parking assistance is provided by the security team who are contactable on 0434 071 826.

Parking fees are displayed at all entrances to the car park facilities.
